Family Day Activity: Wisconsin Beach Sweep and PEAK (Promoting Environmental Awareness in Kids) activities
Time:
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Beach Sweep) 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. (PEAK activities)

Calling all Wisconsin water enthusiasts... Be a part of an international cleanup in your area and celebrate Wisconsin Coastal Awareness Month with REI Brookfield as we clean-up Bradford Beach on September 12th from 9-12 pm. The WI Beach Sweep has participated in the Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) since 1994. Each year the ICC gathers data on trash collected worldwide. In 2008 alone, over 6 million pounds of garbage was collected by over 375,000 volunteers around the world. We recommend bringing work gloves, sunscreen, insect repellant, and wearing pants, long sleeves, and good hiking shoes! This is a great opportunity for all ages. Come join the fun! Water and a light snack will be provided. Please Register with Dana Johnson at 262-783-6150 x205 or danajoh@rei.com After the clean-up stay and enjoy Bradford Beach Family Day sponsored by The Friends of Bradford Beach. Family activities will be occurring from 11am to 3 pm. REI's own PEAK (promoting environmental awareness in kids) program will be one of many activities in which to participate.
