Family Day Activity:  Sand Castle Building Contest for Kids
Time: 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Kiwanis, the Friends of Bradford Beach official service group sponsor this summer, will be hosting the “back-by-popular-demand” Sand Castle Building Contest. So, bring the kids and let their creative juices fly. No need to stay inside the lines. We’ll supply the tools. The sand is the palette. All you have to do is come to the beach. Official contest times are 1:00 and 2:00.

The age groups will be: 3-5, 6-8, 9-11.

Family Day Activity:  Treasure Hunt for Kids
Time: 12:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Do your kids love to search for hidden treasures? If so, bring 'em to the beach to be in their element. They can take home what they find.

Children 11 and under can enter their artistic renderings into the Kiwanis Club of Milwaukee ’s Bradford Beach Family Day Coloring Contest. Visit the Sandcastle Contest table for crayons and entry forms!

Family Day Activity:  Volleyball for Kids
Time: All Day

Do you like to play volleyball with your kids? Do you like to play at the beach? Excellent! This year volleyball is kid-friendly at Bradford Beach with kid-size nets and balls all summer long. See you there!

Have fun in the sand with Kornhole bags that are tossed into a target. Perfect for ages 5 and up, you'll get to enjoy the fresh outdoors while trying out score the other team playing.

Ahoy! Join Teaching Artists from First Stage Children’s Theater as we actively explore the beloved story HOW I BECAME A PIRATE by Melinda Long. Learn how to speak like a pirate while practicing your pirate swagger as we search the beach for hidden treasure.

First Stage Children’s Theater
Since 1987, First Stage Children’s Theater has grown to become one of the nation’s most acclaimed children’s theaters and the second largest theater company in Milwaukee. However, there is more to First Stage than just professional productions for families that engage, enlighten and entertain. First Stage Children’s Theater is proud to serve as the leader in arts-in-education programming throughout Wisconsin. Through our professional theater performances and classroom workshops and residencies, we engage students of all grade levels and age to experience their world differently and find new connections to their school curriculum. First Stage Theater Academy teaches “life skills through stage skills,” and is the largest theater training program of its kind in the nation. Children ages three through 18 build self-confidence, leadership, discipline, integrity, commitment and teamwork through its school year and summer Academy programming.

Meet the hardworking Friends of Bradford Beach (FOBB) team members. See what we're doing and ask questions. Have your little one pick up an FOBB Passport. After participating in the fun have them get an initial from each station and then bring their passport to the FOBB table to enter into a drawing to win a kid size prize. Drawing takes place at 2:30. Children and a parent/guardian must be present to win. Join Friends of Bradford Beach as a member for only $25 on the beach during Family Day. In addition to keeping you informed of activities throughout the year, we'll give you a nice gift of appreciation.
